Points of Information for Members.
Tail Docking
From 1st January 2025 in accordance with FCI Rules the dogs with cropped ears/docked tails, belonging to breeds for which no reference is made to the cropped ears/docked tail in the FCI Breed Standards, will not be allowed to be shown at any IKC Licenced Show.
The Breeds concerned are;
Irish Legislation re docked tails.
The Board would like to remind members of the Statutory Instrument 125/2014 -Prohibition on Tail Docking (Dogs) Regulations 2014
Subject to Regulation 4, a person shall not remove or cause or permit another person to remove the tail or part of the tail of a dog.
For the purposes of section 16 of the Act, a Veterinary Practitioner or a Veterinary Nurse may remove the tail or part of the tail of a Pointer, Spaniel or Terrier in respect of which a declaration must be completed by the owner or person having possession of the dog as well as a Veterinary Practitioner or Veterinary Nurse.

Native Breeds Group.
From 1st January 2025 the Native Breeds Group is no longer compulsory to schedule.
The Group will be scheduled at the IKC Show in March.
