Irish Kennel Club President Statement

January 16, 2023

At the Irish Kennel Club Annual General Meeting, I was privileged to be elected to the office of President. I am truly honoured to be the first female President in our one-hundred-year history. Heartfelt thanks to the Ard Comhairle who have entrusted me with the leadership of a national organisation which has meant so much to me for such a long time.

I would like to acknowledge with much gratitude, Sean Delmar, the outgoing President, Nicholas White, the outgoing Chairman of the General Purposes Committee, and other members of this Committee, together with each and every committee of the Irish Kennel Club. I also welcome new members to all committees, and most importantly, to the Ard Comhairle.

I promised when I was elected that I would do my utmost to treat everyone fairly and with respect. I look forward to working collaboratively with management and staff, members of the Ard Comhairle, and incoming committees, all of whom work so hard for dogdom in Ireland. In this, I would like to include our wider membership and stakeholders, nationally and internationally in my vision for our future.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has called me, has sent me messages of congratulations, or has posted in social media and wider publications. It will be challenging, but I am confident that 2023 will be an exciting year for all of us.

Pat O’Boyle
